“FC Midtjylland is a big club in Denmark, but I have been very well received by everyone here at the club. There is a big difference from Nigeria to Denmark. So far, the food, the pitches and the weather have particularly impressed me.
“My short-term goal is to get better every day and focus on my development. In the long term, I hope to play for the first team one day. One of my biggest dreams is to play in the Champions League with FC Midtjylland.”
Why Midtjylland FC signed Ikenna Prosper Ude-Chukwu
Midtjylland’s faith in Ude-Chukwu stems not only from his potential but also from the qualities he already possesses. The teenager is a physically dominant defender who excels in one-on-one situations, has impressive pace and reads the game well enough to thrive in a high defensive line.
He now joins a growing list of Nigerian talents to swap Ebedei for Midtjylland. Fellow youngsters Olashile Musa Lawal and James Arinze both completed moves to the Danish outfit earlier this summer, while established Super Eagles stars Raphael Onyedika and Frank Onyeka also used the club as a springboard before securing moves to Europe’s top leagues.
The hope in Midtjylland is that Ude-Chukwu can follow a similar trajectory and eventually make his mark for both club and country.
