Galatasaray have confirmed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen remains sidelined with an injury after leaving him out of their squad for Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig clash against Trabzonspor, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian forward is continuing his recovery from a right adductor muscle strain suffered on September 4 during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.
Osimhen scored the opening goal in that encounter but was subsequently ruled out of action as he began his rehabilitation.

Galatasaray confirmed his latest status on Friday through a post on their official X account, announcing the squad for their upcoming away fixture.
“Mario Lemina, Wilfried Singo, and Victor Osimhen, who are continuing their treatments, along with Kaan Ayhan, who felt pain in his Achilles tendon during the last training session, are not included in the squad for the Trabzonspor match,” the club stated.
The update comes after Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle included Osimhen in his 24-man squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
Despite his ongoing injury recovery, the striker received an official invitation from the Nigeria Football Federation, leaving the possibility of his involvement in the upcoming international fixtures open.
Before his fitness setback, Osimhen had enjoyed a productive start to the new campaign, scoring six goals and providing two assists in his first four league appearances for Galatasaray.
His potential return would provide a boost to the Super Eagles, who are scheduled to host Madagascar in Uyo on September 25 before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau four days later.
However, the Nigerian forward’s fitness will need to be assessed before any decision is made regarding his participation. With Osimhen continuing his treatment at Galatasaray, Nigeria will be monitoring his recovery closely ahead of the crucial AFCON qualifying matches.
