Former Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim has described Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as one of the best forwards in world football, Footynaija.com reports.
Terim, who led the Turkish giants to their historic 2000 UEFA Cup triumph, praised Osimhen’s qualities while discussing Galatasaray’s squad ahead of their Super Lig clash with Trabzonspor.
The 73-year-old manager believes the Nigerian striker’s focus, physicality and instinct in front of goal make him an extremely difficult opponent to contain.

“Osimhen is an extraordinary striker, among the best in the world,” Terim said, per 24 SAAT.
“As long as he stays focused on the game, it’s really difficult to go one-on-one with him. He can score goals even when it’s not on his mind, even when there’s no scoring opportunity.”
Osimhen’s ability to create chances from difficult situations was central to Terim’s assessment, with the former Galatasaray boss highlighting the immediate punishment defenders face when they make mistakes against the Nigerian striker.
“He’s a striker who earns his own living the hard way. He punishes you immediately if you make the slightest mistake as an opponent; he’s a completely different kind of player,” he added.
Despite his glowing assessment, Terim also identified one area Osimhen must manage better, urging the Nigerian to remain calm during matches.
“He just needs to avoid getting unnecessarily angry or stressed.”
Osimhen is currently recovering from a groin injury suffered during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir on September 4.
As a result, the striker has been left out of Galatasaray’s squad for their meeting with Trabzonspor but remains part of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
