Slavia Prague head coach Jindrich Trpisovsky has welcomed Mubarak Suleiman‘s maiden Super Eagles call-up, describing the midfielder’s invitation as a fantastic achievement, Footynaija.com reports.
The 19-year-old midfielder received his first senior international invitation from Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle as part of a refreshed 24-man squad for the upcoming friendly against Russia.
Nigeria are scheduled to face Russia on October 6 at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, with Chelle looking to assess several emerging talents within the national-team setup.

Suleiman’s invitation comes after an encouraging period at Slavia Prague, where he recently signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until June 2031 and earned a place in their UEFA Champions League squad.
However, the youngster’s availability for the international fixture remains uncertain following a reported injury concern.
Speaking after Slavia Prague’s 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen, Trpisovsky reacted positively to Suleiman’s international recognition while acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding player departures during the international break.
“For the first ones, Nowak and Mubarak, it’s fantastic,” the Slavia Prague manager said.
“It will still be very variable, who will leave and who won’t. They will see each other on Tuesday. Our doctor and the national team will look at them.”
Trpisovsky also explained the difficulties Slavia could face if several of their players leave for international duty.
“If everyone were to leave, there wouldn’t be many of us left, but it will still be very variable. We’ll probably be looking for a representative for the first week.”
Suleiman’s call-up represents another important milestone in his developing career, with the midfielder now receiving recognition at senior international level after making progress with the Czech club.
The Nigerian youngster will hope to overcome his injury concerns and earn the opportunity to link up with the Super Eagles ahead of the friendly against Russia.
