Super Falcons defender Rofiat Imuran has expressed her excitement after completing her permanent move to Aston Villa Women from London City Lionesses, Footynaija.com reports.
The 22-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Barclays Women’s Super League club, subject to visa approval, becoming Villa’s ninth addition of the summer transfer window.
Imuran joins Aston Villa after spending two seasons with London City Lionesses, where she helped the club win the WSL2 title in 2025 before featuring in their maiden campaign in the top flight.

The Nigerian full-back began her senior career in France with Stade de Reims, making 27 league appearances and scoring seven goals during her two seasons with the club.
She has also become an established member of the Super Falcons since making her senior international debut in 2022 and representing Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Having now taken another important step in her club career, Imuran is eager to get started at Villa and play her part in their ambitions.
“I’m very excited to be here and I want to achieve a lot of things,” Imuran told the club’s official website after completing the move.
“It’s a big club with a lot of history, and it has big ambitions, and I want to be part of it.”
Imuran has been handed the No. 22 shirt and will now look to make an impression under manager Natalia Arroyo as Villa prepare for the new WSL season.
The Super Falcons star could make her competitive debut on Saturday, September 5, when Aston Villa host Chelsea in their opening league fixture, although her availability remains subject to visa approval.
