Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has offered a measured assessment of the difference between defending in the Eredivisie and the Premier League after continuing his impressive start at Ajax, Footynaija.com reports.
Arokodare was on target as Ajax cruised to a 4-0 victory over Telstar at the BUKO Stadion on Sunday, scoring the third goal in what was his first Eredivisie strike of the season.
Davy Klaassen and Steven Berghuis had put Ajax two goals ahead before Berghuis found Arokodare in the 60th minute, with the Nigerian making no mistake from inside the box. Marcos Leonardo added a fourth in the 78th minute as Ajax secured a comfortable away victory.

Speaking to ESPN after the game, Arokodare was asked about the quality of defenders in the Eredivisie and how they compare to what he encountered in England. The 25-year-old refused to make sweeping judgments, but admitted that Sunday’s opponents offered a different challenge.
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” Arokodare said, via voetbalprimeur.
“Today presented a different profile than what I encountered in previous matches. It was more physical; it was a good battle. That was something the fans enjoyed seeing.
“I think the Eredivisie defenders are technically gifted. Everyone here wants to play football, but I have nothing to say about other people. I focus on myself and the team.”
Arokodare’s comments come off the back of another important contribution since joining Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The goal against Telstar was his third consecutive scoring game for the Dutch giants across all competitions and took his tally to four goals.
