Tolu Arokodare has responded after finding himself at the centre of one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer, insisting that much of what has been written about him is inaccurate, Footynaija.com reports.
The Super Eagles striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers in recent weeks. Fiorentina have shown interest in signing the Nigerian, while Turkish side Trabzonspor have also made an approach. Wolves, however, have so far resisted Fiorentina’s attempts to sign the 25-year-old after rejecting an initial proposal, leaving his future unresolved.
The uncertainty escalated this week when reports emerged claiming a training session at Wolves had been cut short after Arokodare allegedly refused to leave the pitch during a disagreement over his proposed transfer. Per The Athletic, the incident followed Wolves’ decision to reject Fiorentina’s offer while accepting a proposal from Trabzonspor, a destination the striker is reported to have no interest in joining.

Arokodare has now given his own account, saying he disagrees with how events have been portrayed.
“I was very surprised and disappointed to see the media reports today, many of which are inaccurate,” the Nigerian wrote on social media.
He went on to defend his professionalism, explaining that his approach has remained the same throughout his career regardless of the circumstances surrounding him.
“Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in conducting myself professionally and maintaining the highest training standards. My commitment has always been to prepare myself as well as possible so that I can contribute to my teammates and the club whenever I am called upon.”
The former Genk forward also sought to calm suggestions that his relationship with Wolves has completely broken down, stressing that he remains committed while he is still under contract.
“I remain under contract with Wolves, and my only intention is to fulfil my responsibilities professionally by training, doing my job, and contributing to the team in accordance with that contract.”
