Former Super Eagles winger Henry Onyekuru could be on the move once again after Turkish Süper Lig side Genclerbirligi opened talks over the possible termination of his contract following a disappointing debut campaign, Footynaija.com reports.
According to reports from Turkey, club officials have invited the 29-year-old’s representatives to Ankara to negotiate a mutual agreement that would see both parties part ways before the start of the 2026/27 season.
Onyekuru is also said to have fallen out of Genclerbirligi’s plans, with the club keen to reshape their playing squad after narrowly avoiding relegation last term.

The situation has been complicated by reports claiming Genclerbirligi must pay the Nigerian winger €240,000 before a July 14 deadline. Failure to do so could automatically bring his stay at the club to an end.
Onyekuru joined the Turkish outfit from Saudi Pro League side Al-Fayha last summer in search of a fresh start, but injuries and limited opportunities prevented him from making the desired impact.
The former Galatasaray star managed just 19 appearances across all competitions, accumulating only 433 minutes of action without registering a goal or an assist.

This latest setback marks another difficult chapter for a player who once ranked among Nigeria’s brightest attacking talents.
After rising to prominence with Belgian side Eupen and enjoying trophy-laden spells with Galatasaray and Olympiacos, Onyekuru has struggled to rediscover the consistency that earned him a move to Everton earlier in his career.
Should an agreement be reached in the coming days, the experienced winger will become a free agent and begin the search for a new club as he looks to revive his career and potentially force his way back into Super Eagles contention.
