Talk of Victor Osimhen joining Atlético Madrid has been played down by Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk, who insists the Turkish champions have not received any approach for the Nigerian striker, Footynaija reports.
Reports from Spain and Turkey claimed Atlético were ready to spend €120 million on Osimhen after manager Diego Simeone reportedly identified the Super Eagles forward as a key target. The speculation suggested Galatasaray had already turned down the proposal as they prepared for the new season.
Buruk, however, says there is nothing concrete behind the rumours.

“We haven’t received any such proposal. There’s nothing going on right now. Hopefully, he will continue his career at Galatasaray,” the coach said, according to Webaslan.
The former Istanbul Basaksehir manager also maintained that neither Osimhen nor his representatives have informed the club of any intention to leave this summer.
Galatasaray remain eager to build their future around the 27-year-old, whose permanent move from Napoli cost a record €75 million and reportedly includes a yearly salary package worth €15 million net. The Nigerian justified that investment last season, scoring 22 goals and supplying eight assists in 32 appearances as the Lions secured a fourth straight Turkish Süper Lig title.
Although several major European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona, continue to watch his situation closely, there is currently no sign that Osimhen is pushing for an exit.
Galatasaray remain confident he will still lead their attack when the new campaign begins in August.
