Aston Villa have been tipped to win the race for Millwall winger Femi Azeez following the Nigerian forward’s impressive Championship campaign, Footynaija reports.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season at The Den, scoring 11 league goals and providing seven assists in 35 appearances as Millwall pushed for promotion to the Premier League.
Although the Lions eventually fell short after losing 2-0 to Hull City in the Championship play-off semi-final second leg, Azeez’s reputation continued to grow across English football.

Millwall had finished third in the table, only one point behind Ipswich Town in the race for automatic promotion. However, goals from Mohamed Belloumi and Joe Gelhardt secured Hull’s place in the play-off final after the first leg had ended goalless at the MKM Stadium.
Despite Azeez struggling to influence the decisive match at The Den, his overall performances this season have made him one of the most exciting attackers outside the Premier League.
Crystal Palace have already been linked with the winger, but former Millwall player Bryan King believes Aston Villa could emerge as stronger contenders.
“He’s a player who’s had a very good season,” King told Aston Villa News. “If he leaves Millwall, it will be for a record sum, that is for sure. I wouldn’t let him go for anything less than £25 million.”

King believes Villa’s style of football under Unai Emery could suit Azeez perfectly and expects several clubs to test Millwall’s resolve during the summer transfer window.
“I would expect plenty of clubs to come in for him and even bid £30 million, and that wouldn’t be a silly figure,” he added.
“He’s a talented player, and he’s the sort of player that Aston Villa need. He’s got a trick, and after his performances this season, he’s certainly put himself in the frame for a move. Signing for Villa would be a great move for him and would be a great payday for Millwall.”
Azeez joined Millwall from Reading in 2024 and initially needed time to settle. He managed only two goals and five assists in his first campaign, but his sharp improvement this season became central to Millwall’s promotion challenge.
With his contract running until June 2028, Millwall remain in a strong negotiating position as Premier League interest gathers pace.
