Nigeria and Besiktas midfielder Wilfred Ndidi could be set for a return to the Premier League this summer, Footynaija reports.
Manchester United are believed to be maintaining a strong interest in the Nigerian midfield marshall despite failing to secure his signature earlier this year.
Ndidi, who joined Beşiktaş from Leicester City for a reported fee of €8 million at the start of the season, has quickly become an important figure in Istanbul. His performances are still being monitored particularly in England, where his reputation as a reliable defensive midfielder remains high.
During the January transfer window, Manchester United made an approach for the 29-year-old, but Beşiktaş were unwilling to part with a key player midway through a challenging campaign. The Turkish club’s stance effectively ended talks at the time, yet interest from Old Trafford has not faded.
Reports suggest that United could return with a fresh proposal in the summer, potentially involving a swap deal. Altay Bayındır has been mentioned as a possible part of negotiations, as Beşiktaş look to strengthen their goalkeeping options ahead of next season.
The decision may ultimately rest on Beşiktaş’ summer plans. While the club resisted selling Ndidi in January, they are believed to be open to evaluating offers at the end of the season, particularly if a deal aligns with their squad needs.
A move back to the Premier League for Ndidi would represent a return to familiar territory, where he previously established himself as one of the league’s most consistent ball-winning midfielders.
Whether Manchester United can structure a deal attractive enough to convince Beşiktaş remains one of the key transfer stories to watch in the coming months.
