Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke is absolutely satisfied with the goal scoring impact of Paul Onuachu but believes the Super Eagles striker needs to improve one important area of his game, Footynaija.com reports.
Onuachu, who came off the substitutes bench in the 65th minute, got his name on the score sheet on Tuesday as Trabzonspor cruised to a thrilling 4-2 win over Istanbul Basaksehir in the Turkish Cup.
The towering Nigerian striker’s goal continued an incredible streak that has seen him score at least one goal in his last eight appearances across games in both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
Assessing Onuachu’s performance after the win, Tekke expressed delight with the striker’s form in front of goal, but highlighted the need for him to improve on his hold up play and avoid losing possession on a frequent basis.

“When I first saw Onuachu arrive, I called him the ‘Goal King,’” Tekke said, per Sporx.
“I think he has special talents. What I want from him is to be a little better. For example, he suffers from simple ball losses. If he fixes that, he’ll get even more goal opportunities. We are very happy with Onuachu.
“Onuachu doesn’t score goals alone; we are happy with the whole team. His match performance is good; he has scored many goals.
“His training performance is also very good. What I like most about Onuachu is his work ethic; he gives 100% in every training session.”

Onuachu has struck 20 times in 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season, with 18 of those coming in the Super Lig where he currently leads the way on the top scorers’ chart.
Thanks to his form, Trabzonspor are enjoying a good season as they currently sit in third place, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce on the Super Lig standings and are on course to qualify for the knockout rounds of the Turkish Cup.
