Promising Dutch-born teenager of Nigerian descent, Thomas Ayodele, is reportedly open to representing the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the future despite already featuring for The Netherlands at youth level, Footynaija.com understands.
Ayodele, who was born in the Dutch city of Almere to parents of Nigerian descent is eligible to represent both The Netherlands and Nigeria at senior international level courtesy of his dual-nationality.
The 19-year-old winger has represented The Netherlands at U-15s and U-19s levels, with two goals to his name from seven outings with the latter. Despite this, Ayodele reportedly favours a senior international career with the Super Eagles.

According to a recent report from Footy-Africa, sources close to the player have confirmed that he really fancies the Super Eagles and would be willing to commit his international future to the three time African champions.
Thomas Ayodele’s career so far

Ayodele is currently on the books at Red Bull Leipzig after recently joining the Bundesliga outfit from Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven during the January transfer window.
The exciting 19-year-old winger began his football journey with hometown side Almere City, before moving into Feyenoord’s youth system in 2020 at just 12 years old.
He spent three years in Rotterdam, where his development earned him recognition at international level as a Netherlands U-15 player. His rapid progress soon attracted further attention, and he joined PSV’s U-17 side in January of the 23/24 season.

Ayodele continued to develop at a rapid pace, as he progressed through PSV’s structure to link up with their U21 team last season. He registered three goals and six assists in 18 appearances for the Young Boerne before completing his move to the Bundesliga.
Blessed with pace, agility and directness, Ayodele is comfortable operating either as a touchline winger or in a second-striker role. His style bears striking similarities to Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi, who also shares his Nigerian heritage.
