Lazio, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have failed to reach an agreement over a move for Nigeria midfielder Fisayo Dele Bashiru, with the Serie A club holding firm on their position during the winter transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.

Lazio reportedly received separate approaches from the Premier League pair in January, both aimed at securing the services of the 24-year-old on either a loan with an option to buy or a structured permanent deal.

Discussions did not progress to advanced stages, with the Italian club declining to adjust their valuation or alter the player’s short term status in the squad. The midfielder remains registered with the team as the window enters its final days.

Dele Bashiru joined the club after impressing during a loan spell from Hatayspor in the 2024-25 season, a campaign that convinced Lazio to activate a permanent option in the agreement.

The former Manchester City academy player featured across Serie A and the Europa League during that period, scoring in European competition and making regular matchday squads under Maurizio Sarri.

This season, a muscle injury picked up during the Derby della Capitale earlier in the campaign disrupted his run of games and led to a spell on the sidelines.

Interest from England emerged as clubs assessed midfield depth and athletic profiles during the January market.

Sources, however, indicate that the Nigerian international is open to remaining in Rome until at least the summer, viewing the second half of the season as an opportunity to re-establish his place after injury.
