Bayern Munich have dismissed reports linking the club with Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, insisting there is currently no need to pursue a new centre-forward while Harry Kane remains firmly in place, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray permanently last summer after a successful loan spell, has been offered to Bayern via an English intermediary, according to reports in Germany.
The 27-year-old has continued his fine form in Turkey, scoring 12 goals in 16 matches this season, and remains highly rated across Europe.
However, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl is understood to have quickly rejected the approach, making it clear that the Bundesliga champions are fully committed to Kane. The England captain has scored 30 goals in 25 appearances this season and remains an undisputed starter.
Any potential interest in Osimhen, Bayern believe, would only arise if Kane were to consider leaving after the season, a scenario the club currently views as unlikely.
Kane is said to be admired by Barcelona, who are planning for life after Robert Lewandowski, but Bayern do not expect the striker’s reported €65m release clause to be activated.
Osimhen has previously been linked with several top European clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG. While he is believed to admire Bayern, no transfer talks are close.
The Nigerian forward is currently representing his country at AFCON 2025, where he has helped the Super Eagles reach the last 16 ahead of Monday’s tie against Mozambique.
