Nigeria national team administrator Dayo Enebi Achor has dismissed rumours of a rift in the Super Eagles dressing room after Victor Osimhen’s on-field antics in Monday night’s win over Mozambique, Footynaija.com reports.
A commanding round of 16 display by Eric Chelle’s men was somewhat marred by a heated exchange between Osimhen and fellow forward Ademola Lookman in the second half with the Galatasaray striker seemingly airing his frustrations about not receiving passes in promising positions.
After the game, Lookman and Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi moved to downplay the situation but speculations about tensions in the Nigeria camp only grew after Osimhen skipped team celebrations at full-time.

However, team administrator Achor has now provided some encouraging update on the situation, revealing that all parties involved have reached a resolution and the team is now focused on preparing for their quarterfinals clash against Algeria.
“There is no problem whatsoever in our camp. Whatever people saw as a crisis between two brothers was easily resolved a couple of hours later. All is good and we are presently at training,” he said via the NFF’s official website.

Both Lookman and Osimhen have been key to Nigeria’s successes at the ongoing tournament. The Atalanta man is on course for Player of the Tournament award with seven goal contributions (3G, 4A) so far while his compatriot boasts 3 goals and an assist.
Fans of the Super Eagles will be delighted to see their two biggest stars move past the debacle to inspire the three-time African champions to another scintillating performance against Algeria in quarterfinals.
