Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles have continued to receive strong reviews following their AFCON 2025 campaign, with their level, structure, and attack making them one of Africa’s most competitive teams, Footynaija.com reports.
Nigeria ended the tournament in Morocco with a bronze medal, going unbeaten in regular time while putting up one of their best attacking shows at an Africa Cup of Nations in recent history.
The Super Eagles finished AFCON 2025 as the top scoring team at the tournament, with 14 goals in seven matches. They dominated games, beating teams in the group stage, Round of 16, and third place playoff (beating Egypt on penalties).

Speaking via a report by Pulse Sports, former Super Eagles winger Friday Ekpo believes the tournament brought out the full quality of the current squad.
“The AFCON 2025 brought out the best from the Super Eagles as their movement and transition of play were so exceptional,” Ekpo said.
“The Super Eagles attack was also something that gave me joy because the attacking trio of Lookman, Osimhen and Akor scored brilliant goals at the tournament,” he said.
“There is no doubt that the current Eagles can compete with any team in the world,” he declared.
Chelle’s tenure has also been defined by results beyond AFCON. Since taking charge, the Super Eagles have recorded a long unbeaten run in competitive matches, with wins and draws.
The team’s improved organisation and clarity of roles have drawn praise from former internationals and observers, who point to renewed belief within the squad.
