Nigeria’s Super Eagles have moved swiftly to shut down any suggestion of unrest in their camp ahead of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal against Algeria in Marrakech, Footynaija.com reports.
Reports of a serious fallout following Victor Osimhen’s on-field confrontation with Ademola Lookman during Monday’s 4-0 win over Mozambique were played down by the Nigeria Football Federation, which confirmed the matter has been resolved internally.
Despite claims that Osimhen had threatened to leave the team’s camp in Morocco, the Galatasaray striker trained fully with the squad on Tuesday under head coach Eric Chelle. There was no sign of tension between the players, with Lookman earlier posting a unifying message on social media.

Nigeria’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, said: “The issues have been nipped internally. Kindly ignore all reports that suggest otherwise.”
Behind the scenes, NFF president Ibrahim Gusau is understood to have intervened personally to restore harmony after board members were split on how to handle the situation.
With the focus now firmly back on football, Nigeria prepare to face an Algeria side that edged DR Congo 1-0 after extra time to reach the last eight.

Both teams have won all four of their matches at AFCON 2025, but Nigeria arrive with the tournament’s most potent attack, having scored 12 goals — the joint-highest tally in their AFCON history.
Algeria, however, have conceded just once in four games, setting up a classic clash between Nigeria’s firepower and Algeria’s defensive steel.
