The Super Eagles of Nigeria head into their final Group C fixture against Uganda knowing that top spot is firmly within reach at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Footynaija.com reports.
Nigeria currently sit at the summit of Group C with six points from their opening two matches, having already secured qualification for the Round of 16.
The clash with Uganda, however, will determine whether Eric Chelle’s side finish as group winners or leave the door ajar for Tunisia.
What the Super Eagles need

A win or a draw against Uganda will guarantee Nigeria top spot in Group C, regardless of the outcome of the group’s other matchup between Tunisia and Tanzania.
Meanwhile, a defeat would leave the Super Eagles relying on results elsewhere. If Nigeria lose and Tunisia beat Tanzania, the Carthage Eagles could leapfrog them on goal difference.
Nigeria’s strong position has also opened the possibility of squad rotation, with players who have seen limited minutes so far expected to feature, giving Chelle a chance to rest some of his key players ahead of the knockout stages.

Uganda, meanwhile, arrive desperate for a win as they chase an unlikely route into the Round of 16, adding extra edge to a fixture where the Super Eagles will be keen to avoid any form of complacency.
With qualification already secured, the Super Eagles’ main focus will be on sealing top spot, maintaining rhythm, and avoiding injuries as they approach the business end of the tournament.
