RB Leipzig and Union Berlin are closely monitoring Göztepe midfielder Anthony Dennis after the Nigerian enjoyed a breakthrough season in Turkey’s Süper Lig, Footynaija.com reports.
The 21-year-old has become a key figure for Göztepe, making 14 league appearances this season and scoring three goals, the most prolific scoring run of his professional career.
Known primarily for his defensive discipline, Dennis has added greater composure and attacking contribution to his game. Tagged the ‘new Wilfred Ndidi‘ for his energetic displays in the middle of the park, the youngster is drawing attention from across Europe.
Dennis joined Göztepe from HB Abuja in January 2023, initially playing for the club’s U19 team before rapidly earning promotion to the senior squad. Last season, he featured in 32 matches, cementing his place as a regular starter.
German interest has intensified in recent weeks as per NTV Spor, with RB Leipzig particularly keen following their successful summer deal with Göztepe for Brazilian striker Romulo. That transfer strengthened relations between the clubs, and Leipzig are now believed to be exploring another move to Izmir.

Union Berlin are also understood to be tracking Dennis, while other European sides, including Hoffenheim, Augsburg, Anderlecht and Rennes, have previously expressed interest.
Göztepe are not actively looking to sell and value Dennis at around €8 million. With a contract running until June 2027, the Turkish club remains in a strong negotiating position and would only consider a sale if a significant offer arrives.
Although Dennis did not make Nigeria’s final AFCON squad, his long-term international prospects remain bright as his club form continues to impress.
