Real Madrid are preparing what could become one of the most expensive transfers of the coming window as they explore a move for Galatasaray’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, Footynaija.com reports.
Reports from Turkey and Spain claim the European giants are ready to submit an offer exceeding €100 million for the 26-year-old, who only joined the Turkish club in the summer for €75 million.
Those reports suggest that Madrid have identified Osimhen as the missing element in their evolving attack. The club believe his presence as a natural centre-forward would enable Kylian Mbappe to return to his preferred role on the left, easing the tactical imbalance created by his recent run of matches through the middle.
Osimhen’s performances since arriving in Istanbul have only strengthened the case for Madrid’s interest.
With nine goals in 12 matches across all competitions, he has quickly become the heartbeat of Galatasaray’s frontline, combining physicality, direct running and penalty-box instinct in a way few strikers in Europe currently match.
But Galatasaray are expected to hold a firm stance. Having invested €75 million to lure him from Napoli, the club are understood to value him closer to €140 million and have little incentive to negotiate lower, especially with no release clause written into his contract, which runs until 2029.
Madrid also know the race could intensify.
Osimhen has been linked with Liverpool, Barcelona, Manchester United and PSG in recent windows, while Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly monitoring developments.
Even so, Madrid remain convinced he could be the decisive figure who restores balance and firepower to their frontline, particularly alongside Mbappe.
