Victor Osimhen is on the verge of making Galatasaray history as he prepares to return to the starting lineup for Wednesday’s Europa League clash against Bodo Glimt, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian striker, who came off the bench during the weekend’s league win over Başakşehirspor following the international break, is just one goal away from setting a new European record for the Turkish giants.
If Osimhen scores against the Norwegian side, he will become the first player in Galatasaray’s history to find the net in seven consecutive European matches, according to Sporx.
The Super Eagles forward currently shares the record of six straight goals with former club icon Burak Yılmaz, who achieved the feat in 2012.
The 26-year-old forward, who netted a hat-trick for Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers earlier against Benin last week, delayed his return to Istanbul after international duty but has since regained full fitness. He is expected to lead the attack as Galatasaray look to extend their impressive run in Europe.
Osimhen, who already holds the record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in a single season for the club with 37, is on the brink of another milestone. Having scored in each of his last six European appearances: against Tottenham, AZ Alkmaar, Dynamo Kyiv, Ajax, and Liverpool, he will stand alone in Galatasaray’s record books if he strikes again against Bodo Glimt.
Fully fit and in blistering form, Osimhen’s potential record-breaking moment could further elevate his growing reputation in Istanbul, where fans already regard him as one of the most influential signings in recent club history.
