Belgium-born Nigerian forward Kazeem Aderemi Olaigbe has joined Turkish Super Lig’s Trabzonspor from French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais, Footynaija.com reports.

The 22-year-old winger has swapped the French top-flight for the Turkish first division despite only transferring to Stade Rennais in February where he managed just ten appearances and registered a couple of assists.

Following the addition of Olaigbe to their ranks, Trabzonspor announced the update in a concise statement posted on the club’s official website.

“An agreement has been reached between Stade Rennais FC and the player himself regarding the definitive transfer of professional football player Kazeem Olaigbe to our club.”

Olaigbe now joins Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu as part of Trabzonspor’s attacking reinforcements ahead of what promises to be a highly competitive 2025/2026 Super Lig campaign.

Who is Kazeem Olaigbe?

Kazeem Olaigbe, born in Brussels to Nigerian parents, is eligible to represent both Belgium and Nigeria internationally. He began his career at Anderlecht before joining Southampton in 2019, where his development earned him a contract extension in 2022.

Seeking first-team experience, Olaigbe went on loan to Ross County in 2022, followed by a stint at Harrogate Town in League Two.

In the summer of 2023, he returned to Belgium to sign for Cercle Brugge, making 60 appearances and notching 12 goals before departing for France in the 2025 winter transfer window.

Olaigbe has represented Belgium at various youth levels, including U15, U16, U17, U19, U20 and U21. Despite this, he remains eligible to represent the Super Eagles should he decide to pledge allegiance to Nigeria.
