Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman is facing an untimely setback in the middle of what could become one of the biggest transfers of his career, as fresh injury concerns have now ruled him out, Footynaija.com reports.
The Atalanta forward, who scored a famous hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final and was later named African Footballer of the Year, is currently in talks over a big-money move to Inter Milan.
However, this momentum has been interrupted just as negotiations begin to heat up, with Lookman reportedly picking up a calf problem during Wednesday’s training session and felt pain after striking a ball.

As revealed in a report by SOS Fanta, the Nigerian international will undergo further medical tests to assess the severity, but early reports suggest he is expected to be out for several weeks.
The timing could not be more frustrating for both the player and the club. The Super Eagles winger is said to have already agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri, but the injury complicates the deal.
Inter’s first offer was said to be around €40 million, but Atalanta are believed to be holding out for a fee closer to €50 million. With the the former Fulham and Leicester City man now set for a spell on the sidelines, discussions may either slow down or shift in structure.
As revealed in the report, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid are reportedly keeping an eye on the attacker, but Inter currently seem to be leading the race.
The winger netted 20 goals in all competitions for Atalanta last season, added seven assists, and has become one of the most dangerous wide men in the Italian top flight.
