The spectacular strike was Osimhen’s third league goal for the Turkish giants, having earlier opened his account with a brace against Kasımpaşa. It was a sign of things to come in what turned out to be a sensational debut campaign.
The 26-year-old striker went on to score 26 league goals and 37 in all competitions—making him the first Nigerian to win the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot. He also contributed eight assists.
Osimhen’s outstanding season saw him sweep a host of individual honours, including the Süper Lig Best Player award, Galatasaray’s Player of the Season, and the top scorer’s Golden Boot. His goals powered Galatasaray to a league and cup double, with a brace in the 3-0 Turkish Cup final win over Trabzonspor cementing his legacy.
With his loan spell now over, Galatasaray are pushing to sign Osimhen permanently. Talks are ongoing amid growing interest from top European clubs eager to land one of the continent’s most in-form forwards.
