Manchester United’s hopes of landing Victor Osimhen have taken a new twist, with reports suggesting Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal are preparing a massive £42.6m-a-year contract offer to tempt the Nigerian striker away from Europe, Footynaija.com understands.
Osimhen, 26, is expected to leave Napoli this summer after a turbulent spell under Antonio Conte, during which he was frozen out of the squad.
Although he enjoyed a prolific loan stint at Galatasaray — scoring 37 goals and assisting eight in 41 appearances — a permanent move to the Turkish side appears unlikely due to financial constraints.
The Nigerian forward, who still has one year left on his contract with Napoli, is understood to be keen on continuing his career in Europe. Manchester United have reportedly re-entered the race to sign him, but face significant financial and competitive hurdles.
United, who have already spent £62.5m on Matheus Cunha, may need to sell before making a formal approach for Osimhen. Talks are said to be ongoing with Inter Milan over the potential sale of Rasmus Hojlund.
Al Hilal are still NOT giving up on Victor Osimhen. They have not left the conversations and remain interested in the player.

Meanwhile, Al Hilal are ready to activate Osimhen’s €75m (£63.9m) release clause and offer him a final bumper deal worth €50m (£42.6m) per season — a step up from their previous €30m (£25.5m) offer, which he turned down, according to Goal.
With no Champions League football at Old Trafford next season, United may struggle to outgun rivals such as Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea should they enter the race.
