Former Nigeria international midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has urged Nigerians to be more supportive of Victor Osimhen as he ponders on his next move ahead of the 2025/2026 season, Footynaija.com reports.
After a stellar loan spell at Galatasaray that yielded 37 goals in 41 appearances as well as the Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles, Osimhen is one of the most in-demand striking talents in Europe and even beyond.
The 26-year-old has turned down a move to Saudi Pro League’s Al Hilal despite receiving multiple jaw-dropping salary offers, opting to remain in Europe where he can continue to compete in the highest level.

While many top clubs across Europe are interested in securing the striker’s signature, his salary demands are reportedly considered too steep with many fans and pundits calling for the masked hitman to lower his demands to facilitate a move.
However, Adepoju, who tagged the external pressure on Osimhen as unnecessary, backed the Super Eagles forward to go on and succeed anywhere he goes.

“I don’t feel like the concerns we all express are bad, but it comes off as a bit unnecessary at times,” Adepoju said in an interview with Brila.
“Victor Osimhen is a star, and his quality is there for all to see. I doubt that there’s a club in the world where he won’t fit in or deliver; he has shown that consistently.
“Personally, I’d say let’s leave him to his choice, and when the right offer for him comes, only he will decide that. We only have to support him as our national team hero.”

Despite calls for Osimhen to quickly decide on his future, the striker appears to be in no particular haste as continues to carefully consider all available options. Galatasaray, Manchester United and Liverpool remain potential destinations.
