Paris FC have agreed a €7 million deal with FC Nantes for Nigerian international Moses Simon, as the newly promoted club makes a bold statement ahead of their Ligue 1 debut season, Footynaija.com reports.

Simon, 29, is expected to sign a three-year contract with Paris FC, becoming their first major signing since gaining promotion to the French top flight for the first time in 46 years.

According to Foot Mercato, the Super Eagles forward will receive a significant salary increase as part of the ambitious project unfolding in the French capital.

Paris FC’s move for Simon marks a significant step in their strategy to quickly establish themselves in Ligue 1, with the club now benefiting from the financial muscle of the Arnault family, France’s wealthiest dynasty.

Club chairman Pierre Ferracci is reportedly spearheading the push to make Paris FC a genuine force.

Simon departs Nantes having made 201 appearances, scoring 37 goals and providing 42 assists since his arrival in 2019. He played a pivotal role in the club’s Coupe de France triumph in 2022.

The winger is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days, with the transfer likely to be finalised before the week’s end.

Simon was reportedly swayed by a lucrative three-year deal, a starring role in an ambitious project, and the opportunity to remain in Ligue 1 while relocating to the Paris region.
