Samuel Chukwueze’s future at AC Milan looked uncertain just weeks ago, but there’s now fresh hope for the Super Eagles winger as the club begins its summer overhaul under a new technical leadership, Footynaija.com reports.
After a difficult 2024–25 season in which Milan finished outside the European spots, major changes are already underway. Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare have been tasked with leading a new era, and their rebuild includes a long list of players set to leave.
For many, including Chukwueze, the expectation was an exit. However, that narrative is beginning to shift.

According to MilanPress, Chukwueze is one of several players who “have their bags in hand,” but he still has a chance to remain at the club if he can prove himself during pre-season.
The report reveals that the Nigerian winger and fellow attacker Noah Okafor are not yet officially out. Their futures will be determined based on how they perform when Milan regroups under Allegri.
It’s a rare window of opportunity for the 26-year-old, who joined Milan from Villarreal in 2023. Expectations were high when he arrived, but the campaigns that followed was far from convincing.
Chukwueze himself admitted that 2024-2025 campaign was “the worst season” of his career, pointing to limited game time and Milan’s overall struggles as reasons things never quite clicked.
Milan are actively planning exits to raise funds, and Chukwueze has been linked with a possible move to other clubs. The Rossoneri reportedly value him at around €20 million. But as things stand, there has been no formal bid.
Sources around Milan suggest the club is open to retaining him if he steps up during pre-season. With Allegri looking to reshape the squad in his own image, the door is not fully shut on anyone, especially those with something to prove.
