Ten home-based players and officials have touched down in London ahead of Nigeria’s highly anticipated participation in the 2025 Unity Cup, which kicks off on Tuesday, May 27, Footynaija.com reports.
Leading the contingent is Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede and Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, who returns to the national fold for the first time since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. The former Leicester City winger will aim to convince head coach Eric Chelle of his relevance to the national team.
Also present is Junior Harrison Nduka, skipper of both Nigeria’s CHAN-bound Eagles B and NPFL champions Remo Stars.

Others on the list of invited home-based talents include Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Ojetoye Waliu, Sadiq Ismail, Saviour Isaac, Collins Chinemerem, Papa Mustapha Daniel, Sikiru Alimi, and goalkeeper Adamu Abubakar.
The remaining members of head coach Eric Chelle’s squad — made up of foreign-based professionals — are expected to arrive later today and tomorrow, finalising preparations for Nigeria’s high-profile semi-final clash against Ghana on Wednesday.
The Unity Cup tournament will be staged at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London — a 17,250-capacity venue and home to Premier League side Brentford FC.
Featuring Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago, the competition kicks off with the ‘Trini-Jam’ opener on May 27 — the first-ever clash between Trinidad and Jamaica on UK soil.
A day later, Nigeria and Ghana — two of Africa’s most decorated footballing nations — will renew their fierce rivalry in the second semi-final. The final and third-place match will both take place on Saturday, May 31, in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the inaugural Unity Cup.
