Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their search for attacking reinforcements, and all eyes are now on Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface, Footynaija.com reports.

The Bayer Leverkusen striker, who helped the German side win the Bundesliga title in the 2023/24 season, is once again attracting strong interest from the Premier League, this time with Spurs leading the chase.

The North London club endured a difficult campaign in front of goal. Dominic Solanke, who arrived from Bournemouth for £65 million before the start of the season, has struggled to hit double figures in the Premier League.

Injuries to Richarlison, who missed 37 matches this season, left Tottenham short of options up front during critical periods. With that in mind, Spurs are now looking to bolster their frontline, and Boniface’s name has emerged strongly.

The Nigerian international came close to joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in January, but the deal collapsed late as the club turned to Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran instead.

Boniface, 24, remains a well-regarded striker across Europe. Although his form has dipped lately, he is still viewed as a major attacking option by several English clubs.

Leverkusen are understood to be open to offers around £43 million, especially with manager Xabi Alonso set to leave for Real Madrid at the end of the season. Boniface himself is reportedly open to a move, and Tottenham are keeping a close watch to take advantage of the opportunity.

While other Premier League sides like West Ham United are also interested and gathering information, the most advanced interest has come from Tottenham.

The full details of Tottenham’s interest were revealed later this week by Spurs Web, who confirmed that the club have made Boniface a top summer target. With Leverkusen willing to negotiate and Boniface open to a Premier League switch, Spurs may be edging closer to bringing the Nigerian star to North London.
