Nigeria have confirmed a 25-player squad for upcoming international friendlies against Cameroon as the Super Falcons step up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Footynaija reports.

Head coach Justin Madugu released the selection on Thursday, choosing a balanced mix of established internationals and fresh faces for the fixtures scheduled during the FIFA women’s international window in Yaoundé.

Europe-based goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie leads the squad, while Portsmouth shot-stopper Comfort Erhabor receives her first senior call-up, marking one of the standout moments of the announcement.

Experienced defender Osinachi Ohale returns to marshal a defensive group that also includes Michelle Alozie, Ashleigh Plumptre and Oluwatosin Demehin.

In midfield, creativity is expected to come from Jennifer Echegini, currently playing for Paris Saint‑Germain Féminine, alongside trusted internationals Halimatu Ayinde, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and Deborah Abiodun. The technical crew see the matches as an opportunity to sharpen tactical structure and test combinations before the continental tournament.

One notable absence is veteran striker Asisat Oshoala, despite her impressive club performances. The omission of the six-time Africa Footballer of the Year opens the door for younger attackers hoping to secure long-term roles within the national setup.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade headlines the forward line, joined by Esther Okoronkwo, Chiwendu Ihezuo and Rinsola Babajide, who continues to impress at AS Roma Women. Additional attacking options include Monday Gift and Folashade Ijamilusi, reflecting a clear focus on squad evolution.

Nigeria, Africa’s most successful women’s national team, will use the Cameroon encounters to assess fitness levels, build chemistry and refine strategy ahead of WAFCON, where the champions aim to defend their continental crown and secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
