Barcelona have joined Juventus and several Premier League clubs in the race to sign Nigerian and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, Footynaija.com reports.
The Blaugrana are exploring attacking reinforcements ahead of the summer transfer window and view Lookman as a more cost-effective alternative to Nico Williams and Rafael Leão, according to FC Barcelona Noticias.
With Barcelona’s financial constraints limiting their options, the Nigerian international could provide both quality and value, making him an appealing target.

Lookman has been in superb form for Atalanta, reinforcing his reputation as one of the top wingers in European football. His standout moment came in the 2024 Europa League final, where he delivered a historic hat-trick in Atalanta’s emphatic victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
That performance elevated his profile, and he has continued to impress in the 2024/25 season, scoring 17 goals and providing seven assists in 30 appearances—outperforming both Leão and Williams in front of goal.
Juventus have also been closely monitoring Lookman’s progress, with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli keen to add the versatile attacker to the Bianconeri squad, as per TMW.
The Serie A giants are expected to make a formal approach at the end of the season as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Atalanta, aware of the growing interest in their star player, have reportedly set a €50 million asking price.
Given the current transfer market, the valuation is considered reasonable for a player of Lookman’s calibre, especially when compared to the potential fees for other targets — Nico Williams is expected to cost at least €60m, while AC Milan are unlikely to accept less than €80-90m for Leão.

Barcelona’s financial struggles have made them cautious in their recruitment strategy, but Lookman’s reported salary of around €2 million per year would not pose a significant challenge to their wage structure. The club remains intent on securing a natural left winger, and the Nigerian remains firmly on their radar.
While Atalanta would prefer to keep Lookman, they acknowledge the difficulty of doing so given the level of interest in the 27-year-old.
With Juventus, Barcelona, and Premier League clubs all tracking his situation, the battle for his signature is set to intensify as the summer window approaches.
