Several Nigerian footballers brought their A-game to the table for their clubs on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, and here are the major highlights by Soccernet.football.

In the Premier League, Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi (as a second-half substitute) both featured as Nottingham Forest recorded their biggest Premier League victory since 1991 following a 7-0 win over Brighton.

Chris Wood netted a hat-trick while Anthony Elanga claimed three assists as the Reds powered to their 14th league win of the campaign.

Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu were the goalscorers for Southampton as the Saints clinched a morale-boosting 2-1 victory at Ipswich Town.

In the Spanish Primera División Femenina, Nigeria U20 star Motunrayo Ezekiel needed only six minutes on her debut to make an impact as she assisted an 85th-minute equaliser in Valencia’s 1-1 draw at Deportivo de La Coruña.

In the French Première Ligue, Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie kept a clean sheet and assisted Paris FC’s last goal in a 3-0 away win at Stade de Reims Féminines.

Elsewhere in the same division, Nigeria international Jennifer Echegini provided the assist to the game’s opener as PSG got the better of Strasbourg with a 2-1 win.

In Israel’s Ligat Ha’al, former Katsina United lad Andrew Idoko continued his fine start to life in Europe as he assisted Hapoel Jerusalem’s third goal in the club’s crushing 4-0 victory at home to Ironi Tiberias.

Over to the Saudi Arabian Women’s Premier League where Francisca Ordega netted her first goal for her new club Al Ittihad in their 3-1 home loss to Al Hilal.

Ashleigh Plumptre also featured for the defeated hosts.

In the men’s top flight, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong headed home the opening goal as his Al Kholood stumbled to a 4-3 defeat at Al Ittihad.

In Turkey, Oghenekaro Etebo and Gençlerbirliği kept up their push for promotion to the Super Lig with a 2-0 victory against visiting Iğdır FK.

In only his second appearance for Ankara Keçiörengücü, Francis Ezeh contributed a goal and an assist to inspire the club to a commanding 7-0 win over Yeni Malatyaspor.
