Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel could be set for a dramatic exit from Fenerbahce on transfer deadline day, as the Turkish club looks to resolve his contract situation before the window closes, Soccernet.football reports.

The 27-year-old defender, whose contract expires in June, had hoped to see out the remainder of the season before leaving as a free agent. However, negotiations over a contract renewal have stalled, creating tension between the player and the club.

Fenerbahce have already taken steps to plan for life without Osayi-Samuel, signing Serbian right-back Ongjen Mimovic from Red Star Belgrade.

The club is reportedly considering removing Osayi-Samuel from their Turkish Football Federation (TFF) squad list while keeping him registered for only UEFA Europa League matches. This move would prevent him from playing domestic games in Turkey, effectively forcing his exit before the deadline.

Osayi-Samuel has been a key figure for Fenerbahce since his arrival from Queens Park Rangers in 2021, making 163 appearances, scoring seven goals, and providing 14 assists. However, the ongoing contract impasse has seen his role in the team become increasingly uncertain.

Amidst the uncertainty, Osayi-Samuel has attracted interest from English clubs, with sides in both the Premier League and Championship monitoring his availability.

If a suitable offer arrives before the deadline, Fenerbahce could sanction a sale, allowing the Nigerian defender to return to England, where he previously impressed with QPR.

With the transfer window closing on Monday, Osayi-Samuel faces a critical 24 hours that could determine the next step in his career.
