Manchester City’s Rodri has insisted that he has “nothing much to say” regarding persistent speculations, linking him with a move to Spanish and European juggernauts Real Madrid, Soccernet.football reports.

Rodri joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 at the age of 23, as a relatively unknown football talent. However, he has since developed into arguably the most crucial player in Pep Guardiola’s side, especially over the past two years.

The Madrid-born star played a significant role as City achieved Champions League success in 2023 and also earned Player of the Tournament award at this summer’s European Championship following Spain’s triumph in Germany.

Having established himself as one of the best players in the world at the moment, Rodri has recently been at the center of intense speculation, with reports indicating that Madrid could offer nearly £100 million for his signature next summer.

However, City remain calm about the Spaniard’s future and the midfielder has now made efforts to quell the uncertainty.

“I have nothing much to say,” Rodri told a press conference. “I have three more years at City.

“When I sign the contracts I don’t think of other teams, I just think of finishing. So yes, I have a contract with City and there is nothing else I can say.”

Rodri is under contract at the Etihad until 2027 and City feel no pressure regarding his future. They plan to offer the Spain international a new deal in the coming weeks, regardless of any potential interest from Madrid.

According to The Athletic, the Euro 2024 winner has no immediate desire to leave Manchester City but is reportedly intrigued by the idea of playing in Madrid again, having previously spent one season with Atletico.
