After a disappointing 2023/2024 campaign where they failed to win any silverware, Bayern have shaken things up in the dugout with former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany replacing Thomas Tuchel as head coach.
The Bavarians will be looking to re-assert their dominance in the Bundesliga after Bayer Leverkusen usurped their throne in scintillating fashion last season and they have already begun making moves in the transfer market in preparation for their season of redemption.

Manuel Neuer (GK)
The veteran goalkeeper is expected to remain firmly in the mix for Bayern Munich in the coming season. Despite his advanced age, Neuer has managed to maintain his reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and his experience will be invaluable for Kompany’s backline.
Joshua Kimmich (RB)
There have been rumors in the media about a potential exit for the German with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City credited with interest in his services. If the 29-year-old however, remains at the Allianz Arena, we may see him moved permanently to right-back with the arrival of Joao Palhinha who is set to take on the No. 6 role.
Jonathan Tah (CB)
The 28-year-old was a pillar at the back for reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen last season, and he went on to have an impressive outing for Germany at the European Championships. Bayern are looking to poach from one of their biggest domestic rivals but may first need to make squad space by selling.
Hiroki Ito
Ito has now joined Bayern following a standout season with Stuttgart, where he played a crucial role in getting the Swabians back into the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 15 years as they finished second in the Bundesliga. The Japan international excels both as a center-back and a left-back, making him an exciting addition to Kompany’s defensive options.
Alphonso Davies (LB)
The Canada international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer but that is now looking unlikely as the Spanish giants are unwilling to meet Bayern’s asking price, which means he will be at the Allianz Arena for at least another season. Surely, if Davies remains in the squad, he will be Kompany’s best option for this position.
Joao Palhinha (DM)
Bayern have actualized their long-standing desire to acquire the services of the Portuguese midfielder and if his performances for Premier League side Fulham are anything to go by, then the Bavarians can rest assured that they have got themselves a midfield engine room.
Aleksandr Pavlovic (CM)
The 20-year-old German impressed in the middle of the park last season when he was afforded the opportunity by Tuchel and we could see him play an even bigger role for Bayern Munich in the coming season. Pavlovic is not only comfortable playing with both feet, he can also feature as a lone or double pivot, making him such an exciting prospect to look out for.
Jamal Musiala (CAM)
Musiala is certainly a player that Bayern will be looking to build their team around, presently and in the future. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder showed why he is highly rated at the European Championships, easily one of the best players of the tournament despite Germany’s quarter-final exit. A fit Musiala is sure to be one of the first names on Kompany’s matchday XI.
Michael Olise (RW)
Olise enjoyed a stellar campaign for Crystal Palace last season despite suffering a hamstring injury early on. He registered 16 goal involvements in 19 appearances for the Eagles and his impressive performances have now landed him in Munich where he will now defend the colours of Germany’s biggest football club come the 2024/2025 season.
Florian Wirtz (LW)
Another Leverkusen player Bayern are looking to poach, Wirtz enjoyed sensational form for Die Werkself last season and his exploits have seen him become the subject of interest from top clubs all across Europe including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. However, it is highly unlikely that the German will leave Leverkusen this summer.
Harry Kane (CF)
Kane was in sensational form throughout his debut campaign in the Bundesliga but he couldn’t replicate that form at the European Championships in Germany, often attracting criticism for disappearing in games. Kompany will be hoping Kane’s Euros form was just a temporary set-back as he will certainly want his striker firing on all cylinders come the start of the new season.
