Harry Kane has revealed some lighthearted banter with Jamal Musiala regarding their international allegiances ahead of Euro 2024, Soccernet.football reports.

Both players, key figures for Bayern Munich, find themselves as pivotal figures for their respective national teams.

With Gareth Southgate relying heavily on Kane for England’s Euro 2024 campaign, Musiala has been identified as a central figure for Germany.

Ex-Spurs man Kane admitted to teasing Musiala about his decision to represent Germany over England, noting Musiala’s earlier ties to Chelsea’s academy, which could have paved the way for him to play for England.

In an interview with ITV, Kane remarked, “I have given him a bit of banter for choosing Germany over England. Obviously, he could have played for England.

“Maybe if I was here a few years earlier, I could have got my arm round his shoulder and got him for us.”

Reflecting on the prospect of facing hosts Germany in the tournament, Kane expressed his anticipation of potentially competing against Musiala and other Bayern Munich teammates who represent Germany.

He added: “Jamal’s great, obviously you have all the Germany internationals here, and there’s not been any kind of banter flying around yet, maybe in the next few weeks, it will.

“But yeah, it will be interesting. Obviously, whenever you play against people you know it’s a different feeling. If we play against Germany in the summer, I’m sure it’ll be an interesting game.”

Kane and Musiala are set to join forces for Bayern Munich in their upcoming Champions League clash against Real Madrid as they aim to secure a spot in the final.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Munich, both players are eager to propel their team to victory.
