Rwanda head coach Adel Amrouche has unveiled a 28-man provisional squad for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria and Lesotho, set for March 21 and 25 at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Footynaija.com reports.
This is Amrouche’s first squad selection since taking charge of the Amavubi, and it features a blend of 15 foreign-based players and 13 home-based talents.
Among the key inclusions is experienced goalkeeper Ntwari Fiacre, who plies his trade with Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa.
Midfielders Hakim Sahabo and Rafael York also return to the squad, having last featured in Rwanda’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lesotho. The final squad will be trimmed to 23 players later this week.

Rwanda face a stern test against a Nigeria side eager to bounce back from a sluggish start to their qualifying campaign.
The Super Eagles, currently fifth in the group and four points off the top, are desperate to revive their World Cup hopes. With a star-studded attack featuring the last two African Player of the Year winners, Nigeria will be determined to secure maximum points.
However, Rwanda have reason to be optimistic. They remain unbeaten in their last two meetings with Nigeria, having held the Super Eagles to a goalless draw in Kigali before stunning them with a 2-1 victory in Uyo during last November’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
