AC Milan have suffered a potential injury setback after Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze missed training with a hip problem, with reports in Italy suggesting he could be sidelined for several weeks, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian international was absent from Milan’s final training session on Wednesday ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash with Bournemouth, raising concerns over his availability for the fixture.
According to Football Italia, Chukwueze is experiencing discomfort in his left hip and is scheduled to undergo a specialist examination to determine the extent of the problem.

While the full diagnosis and recovery timeline remain unclear, reports indicate that the injury could keep the 27-year-old out of action for an extended period.
The development comes at an inconvenient time for Milan boss Ruben Amorim, who has regularly relied on Chukwueze this season.
Often deployed as a right wing-back by Amorim, he’s registered two assists in eight appearances across all competitions, while also establishing himself as an important option for the Portuguese tactician’s setup.
Chukwueze’s potential absence could leave Milan with another selection headache on the right flank, with Alexis Saelemaekers already facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines following ankle surgery. The Belgian is expected to miss several months of action.

With Chukwueze’s condition still awaiting specialist assessment, the Italian side will be hoping the Nigerian’s problem is not as serious as feared.
Milan face Bournemouth on Thursday as they continue their Europa League campaign, but Chukwueze’s fitness will now be a key concern for Amorim ahead of the upcoming fixtures.
The immediate priority at this stage will be determining the severity of the hip problem and commencing his recovery journey, with a clearer return timeline expected after further medical assessment.
