Bayern Munich are reportedly set to rival Real Madrid’s interest in young Spanish center-back Cristhian Mosquera, with a bidding war potentially in the offing ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window, Soccernet.football reports.
Real Madrid have reportedly placed Mosquera high on their shortlist of center-back targets, as the reigning La Liga champions look to strengthen their defensive line at the end of the 2024/2025 season.
The 20-year-old Spaniaird has entered the final 18 months of his contract at La Liga strugglers Valencia and reports suggest that Los Che are finding it difficult to tie him down on a new deal.

Mosquera has established himself as an important part of Valencia’s back line since joining the first team fully, with the Spain under-21s international starting in all of Los Che’s 19 La Liga matches this season.
Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring Mosquera closely, with scouts tracking the Valencia defender throughout the season. The Spanish giants are keen to secure a young defender to bolster their squad at the end of the campaign.
According to Fichajes, Bayern Munich have also entered the race for Mosquera, with the Bundesliga club said to be “seriously considering” a move for the highly-rated youngster as they consider him to be one for the future.
As per the reports, Bayern recently sent scouts to evaluate Mosquera and have received favourable reports. While the defender is open to signing a new contract with Valencia, he is reportedly demanding a €25m (£21m) release clause, which the club is unwilling to accept.
If Valencia fail to reach an agreement, Mosquera can begin negotiating a pre-contract with foreign clubs in January 2026, increasing the risk of the club losing him on a free transfer.
As things stand, Madrid appear to be leading the race for the Spaniard’s signature, with contact reportedly established between the two clubs. Mosquera would find it challenging to turn down a move to Madrid and Valencia’s potential relegation this season would further weaken their position.
