Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has won the Premier League Player of the Month for December 2024, while Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo claimed the Manager of the Month award, Soccernet.football reports.

Isak, having clinched the personal accolade for the month of December, became the fifth different player to win the award this season, following in the footsteps of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood and Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah.

The Magpies’ hitman enjoyed scintillating form all through the month of December. He got himself on the scoresheet in all six of Newcastle United’s league fixtures during the festive month, racking up an impressive tally of eight goals and two assists.

Isak opened his account for the month with a thunderous effort during Newcastle’s six-goal thriller against Premier League leaders Liverpool, before netting one each against Brentford and Leicester City respectively. He also bagged a hattrick against Ipswich Town and then closed out a highly prolific month with goals against Aston Villa and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Nuno Espírito Santo claimed the Manager of the month award after leading Forest on a run of five consecutive Premier League victories in December. This marked the Portuguese manager’s second Manager of the Month award in the 2024/2025 campaign and the sixth of his Premier League career.

Despite beginning the month with a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City, Nuno’s Forest bounced back superbly. They dispatched the likes of Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur as they closed out the month with five straight victories to end the year in third place on the league standings.
