Victor Osimhen has identified Galatasaray’s home advantage as a crucial weapon ahead of their highly anticipated Intercontinental Derby against Fenerbahçe on Monday, Footynaija reports.
The Nigerian striker is preparing to lead the Turkish champions into the Matchday 9 showdown at RAMS Park, where the hosts will look to strengthen their position in the Süper Lig title race.
Osimhen believes the atmosphere and emotional intensity surrounding the fixture could give Galatasaray an important edge as they seek victory against their bitter Istanbul rivals.
“Derbies are truly emotionally charged games. There’s also chaos in these matches. Winning every derby is crucial for the championship. We’ll be playing at home, which will give us an advantage. We want to finish this match in the best possible way,” Osimhen said per Fanatik.
Galatasaray head into the contest in impressive form, sitting top of the Süper Lig table with 19 points from eight matches. Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, are third with 16 points, making Monday’s encounter an important opportunity for both sides to strengthen their championship ambitions.
Osimhen will also provide the hosts with a significant attacking threat after delivering an impressive return in his opening appearances of the 2026/27 campaign.
The Super Eagles striker has scored seven goals and supplied three assists in eight appearances across all competitions, including a goal in Galatasaray’s 4-2 away victory over Lille in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
