Turkish club Bursaspor are reportedly working on a move for Super Eagles winger Henry Onyekuru as they look to add another Nigerian international to their squad ahead of the January transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.
The 29-year-old has been without a club since leaving Genclerbirligi at the end of last season, bringing a difficult spell in Turkey to an end after struggling to make an impact.
Onyekuru joined the club from Saudi Arabian side Al Fayha in 2025 but failed to register a goal contribution in 19 appearances. Al Fayha eventually axed him from the squad towards the end of the campaign, with reports also emerging of unpaid wages before both parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
However, the former Everton and Galatasaray winger could now have an opportunity to revive his career with another Turkish side.

According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Bursaspor have stepped up their efforts to sign Onyekuru, viewing the free agent as a potential attacking reinforcement ahead of the second half of the season.
The reported interest comes after the club brought in fellow Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, who has made an encouraging start since arriving in the summer.
Iheanacho has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in eight games this season, including a six-game scoring streak that marked a career first for the Super Eagles striker.
His early impact could make the prospect of another Nigerian forward joining the squad an appealing one for Bursaspor as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Onyekuru’s availability as a free agent could help the club negotiate a deal, with reports suggesting they are considering a contract running until the end of the season. A longer agreement could follow if he impresses during that period.
There is, however, a potential wait before he can make his competitive debut. Under the reported Turkish registration restrictions, Onyekuru would not be eligible to play until January even if an agreement is reached before then.
That would give the winger time to settle in and work on his fitness, while a move could offer him a fresh start after a frustrating end to his previous spell in Turkey.
