Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi is in line to make his return for Marseille this weekend after recovering from a knee injury that ruled him out of Nigeria’s latest AFCON 2027 qualifiers, Footynaija.com reports.
Nnadi has endured a frustrating start to the 26/27 campaign, with the 23-year-old making just two substitute appearances for the French giants before the injury setback.
The midfielder picked up the knee problem shortly before the October international break, forcing him to miss out on a place in the Super Eagles squad for the qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
However, fresh reports indicate that Nnadi has now recovered fully and is no longer experiencing discomfort from the injury. That could put the former Zulte Waregem midfielder in contention when Marseille travel to face Troyes in Ligue 1 this weekend.
The absence of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, who returned from international duty with an injury after representing Denmark, could also increase Nnadi’s chance of featuring against Troyes.
With Marseille looking to respond after a difficult run of results, Nnadi could get an opportunity to make his case for more regular involvement under Bruno Genesio.
The Nigerian’s return will also interest Chelle, particularly with the Super Eagles preparing for another AFCON 2027 qualifying assignment against Tanzania in November.

Nnadi has established himself as an important option for the national team since making his senior debut during the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, featuring whenever he has been fit.
His latest injury therefore came at an unfortunate time, with his absence from the October window leaving Nigeria without another midfield option as Chelle experimented with his squad.
Now back in full fitness, Nnadi’s immediate focus will be on forcing his way into Marseille’s plans and building up his minutes.
A strong run of club appearances before the next international window could put the midfielder firmly back in contention for Nigeria when the Super Eagles return to AFCON qualifying action in November.
