Former Westerlo striker Tosin Dosunmu has offered a glowing but honest assessment of Super Eagles forward Rafiu Durosinmi following the Nigerian’s impressive start to life at KRC Genk, Footynaija.com reports.
Durosinmi has wasted little time making his mark in Belgium after completing a club-record €10.5 million move from Italian side Pisa in July.
The 23-year-old has scored five goals in his opening six Belgian Pro League appearances, including a crucial equaliser in Genk’s 1-1 draw against league leaders Gent on Sunday.

His explosive start has already established him as one of the division’s leading goalscorers, although Dosunmu believes the Nigerian is yet to reach his best level.
“On matchday one, he already surprised me with what he showed after barely ten days of training,” Dosunmu said, per HBVL.
“Rafiu sometimes reminds me a bit of Victor Osimhen, with the difference that he is really very strong in the air.
“Condition-wise he isn’t at his best yet, and the understanding with his teammates still needs to develop a bit.”
Durosinmi opened his Genk account on his debut against Zulte Waregem before finding the net in each of his next three league appearances.
The former Viktoria Plzen striker also scored against Westerlo, Antwerp and Beveren before drawing a blank against Anderlecht. However, he wasted little time in returning to the scoresheet with a goal in last weekend’s draw against Gent.
His early performances have been particularly impressive given the striker’s own admission that adapting to life in Belgium has been difficult and different from what he experienced at his former clubs.
With five goals already to his name, Durosinmi currently leads the Belgian Pro League scoring charts and will be hoping to continue his remarkable run of form in front of goal when Genk take on Club Brugge in their next outing.
