Victor Osimhen has again been linked with a move to the Premier League, but the latest update has cast serious doubt on claims that Arsenal are working on a deal for the Super Eagles striker before the transfer window closes, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen’s future has remained a major transfer story since he completed his permanent move to Galatasaray last summer. The Turkish champions paid Napoli €75 million for the Nigerian, making him the most expensive player in the history of Turkish football, and handed him a four-year contract.
The striker then continued to establish himself as one of Galatasaray’s most important players. His goals and physical presence have made him the focal point of their attack, while the club have repeatedly made it clear that they have no desire to lose him.

That stance has not stopped Premier League speculation. Arsenal have been linked with Osimhen as they looked for another attacking option, while reports earlier this month claimed the Gunners had discussed his situation with Galatasaray during talks involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
Those reports created the impression that Arsenal could make a serious move for the Nigerian, particularly with their pursuit of Julian Alvarez facing complications. The latest information, however, suggests that the situation is very different.
Transfer expert gives major update on Osimhen and Arsenal
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now dismissed the reports of formal negotiations between Arsenal and Galatasaray over Osimhen.
“Many of you have been inquiring about Victor Osimhen for weeks, not just today, asking if he could be a target for Arsenal and whether Arsenal are in discussions with him. This is not true, guys,” Romano said.
He went further, insisting that Arsenal have not opened negotiations for the 27-year-old.
“Arsenal have never opened negotiations for Osimhen for one reason: Osimhen is not going anywhere,” he said. “He is a crucial part of Galatasaray’s strategy. Osimhen is not for sale.”
Romano also said the Nigerian was never viewed as a realistic option for Arsenal or other clubs because of Galatasaray’s position.
“Osimhen was never regarded as an option for any club because he cannot leave. He is content at Galatasaray. Galatasaray values Osimhen highly.”
The transfer expert also offered an explanation for how the Arsenal-Osimhen rumours may have developed. He said the clubs were discussing Martinelli, who is now closing in on a move to Al Hilal, and that those talks may have helped fuel the speculation around Osimhen.
“For Victor Osimhen to leave at this point will make no sense. Osimhen is staying,” Romano added.
