Victor Osimhen has reportedly been fined 5,000 Turkish lira after allegedly driving through a red traffic light in Turkey, Footynaija understands.
The Arsenal-linked Super Eagles striker was said to have been involved in the incident after leaving Galatasaray training on Thursday. The Turkish club had completed preparations for their second league match of the season against Erzurumspor at the Kazım Karabekir Stadium.
According to Turkish outlet Haberler, footage showed Osimhen’s private car crossing an intersection while the traffic light was red. He was reportedly later charged with a traffic offence and fined 5,000 TL, which is about N141,000.
The reported incident has not stopped Galatasaray from selecting the Nigerian forward for their league match.
Osimhen has made a strong start to the new campaign. He scored twice in Galatasaray’s opening league match to help the champions earn a 2-2 draw against newly promoted Çorum.
The goals were an early reminder of the striker’s importance to Galatasaray as they begin their title defence.
The club will now hope Osimhen can produce another big performance against Erzurumspor and help them record their first league win of the 2026-27 season.
Osimhen’s focus, though, will be on continuing his scoring form on the pitch after the reported traffic offence off it.
