Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare is reportedly closing in on a move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor intensifying efforts to secure his services ahead of the new season, Footynaija.com understands.
Arokodare only joined Wolves from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk last summer in a deal reportedly worth up to £24 million. However, the towering forward endured a challenging debut campaign at Molineux and struggled to fully justify the expectations that accompanied his arrival.
The 25-year-old featured regularly for the Premier League club, making 38 appearances across all competitions while contributing six goals. Despite those numbers, Arokodare found it difficult to establish himself as a consistent attacking threat and was unable to make the desired impact during Wolves’ difficult season.

His future at Molineux has been the subject of speculation all summer and Turkish outlet Takagazete now claims Trabzonspor have moved to the front of the queue for his signature after submitting an official loan bid.
Trabzonspor are looking to bring in Arokodare as reinforcement in their attacking department following Felipe Augusto’s recent transfer to Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.
The Turkish club are also preparing for the possible departure of fellow Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu, who has attracted serious interest from Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al Ahli after finishing last season as the Turkish top flight’s joint-leading scorer.

According to the report, Wolves want Trabzonspor to cover Arokodare’s full annual salary of €3.7 million before approving the move. Should both clubs resolve all the details, the Nigerian international is expected to travel to Turkey in the coming days to complete the formalities of the transfer.
