Wrexham have joined the race to sign Nigeria winger Femi Azeez, with Millwall demanding £17m for the 25-year-old, Footynaija reports.
Azeez has attracted strong interest after an impressive season in the Championship. He scored 11 goals and made eight assists in 35 starts as Millwall finished third and reached the play-offs. His form also earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.
Hull City are currently seen as the leading contenders for Azeez. The newly promoted Premier League club want to add more attacking quality as they prepare for life in the top flight.
Brighton are also interested. The Premier League club see Azeez as a possible replacement for Amario Cozier-Duberry, who could join Rangers on a permanent deal.
Wrexham have now entered the race as they look to add more firepower to their attack, according to Sports Illustrated. Manager Phil Parkinson is keen to strengthen his squad as the club continues its rise through the English football system.
Azeez has attracted interest from Premier League clubs before. Ipswich Town and Aston Villa both made strong attempts to sign him, while Millwall previously rejected a £20m move to Ipswich.
Millwall are in a strong position because Azeez has a contract at The Den until June 2028. Manager Alex Neil has also made it clear that the club do not need to sell. That means any club wanting Azeez must be ready to meet Millwall’s £17m valuation.
The winger’s situation is also affected by an injury. He suffered a Grade 1B hamstring problem against Bristol City and is expected to miss up to two weeks. That could give interested clubs an extra concern before making a late move.
Azeez recently committed his international future to Nigeria and made a dream start to his Super Eagles career by scoring twice during Nigeria’s 2026 Unity Cup triumph.
